New weapons probably... woot? As if there isn't enough weapons no one cares about.

I'm so glad I decided to wait and see what benefits HoM gave towards GW2 before adding anything to the weapons monument. Saved me a bundle. Thanks ANet

If they now make hom weps open to more variaties, then all those who have 11+ destroyer weps dedicated are completely screwed.

100% screwed up, and thrown into a waste paper bin.

For them to do this will de value all the hard work people, including myself have done to gain a full weps rack.

Wow...qqing much over being poor?

Seriously how does being able, assuming we will be, to add tormented weapons to our HoM unfair or being rewarded more? If i put a lot of effort and time into accumulating a horde of gold and spend lots of it on high end items i want to be able to show that expensive "bling" off to people in my HoM.

Afterall the big point of the HoM, GW2 bonuses aside, is to be a little showroom for all you're achievments whether thats titles or material items like weapons and armour.

I didn't spend 2 years of my life and spend thousands of hours playing GW only to find that i cant add my most prized and expensive weapons into my HoM, my personal showroom.

If you wan't to add you're crappy req9 blue items or generic gold skinned items into you're HoM then fair play to you mate. But don't knock people for wanting to actually show off the rewards for their time. I didn't just produce tormented weapons out my arse, i grinded, i farmed, i pugged and i died obtaining the gold to be able to afford them.

Every accomplishment in this game has been devalued over time. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Double weekends, Ursan, and a multitude of other things have contributed to this, and there's no reason to think that this will be any different.

BTW .. this happens in pretty much every other game too. Heck, it happens in pretty much every area of LIFE, so you had better get used to it. The first to do things always looks impressive at the time, but as time goes on and people adapt and things change, it looks less and less impressive. Just the way it is.

Your hard work was already devaluated by 60%. Cry about that.

No sympathy at all. It wasn't a race - there's at least a year until anyone "needs" to have their monuments filled. If you decided to buy 11 Destroyer weapons straight away, I'd assume you liked them and planned on using them. Otherwise, why buy, when you didn't have to?

I wasted some cash on a few weapons myself, but I'm not going to condemn ANet for listening. We all knew it was a possibility they would respond to the many complaints on this issue.

Great idea...I just wonder if they'll simply make it that you just need one of the options for each category of weapon, so you can have a nice variety.

For example, you could have a tormented scythe/sword/axe/bow/hammer/spear + a destroyer wand/staff/shield/focus/daggers and your hall would be counted as being "full".

QFT. At one time, getting a University degree was considered all that, now Ph.D.s are a dime a dozen. As far as I'm concerned, the "value" of your achievement depreciates as soon as you drive it off the lot, so it better be something that you did for yourself, because no one else gives a hoot.

Sorry that would be the same as saying, why get armor for all your heros now, or why max titles out now, or get mini's

It all comes down to the same thing, filling and maxing your HoM.

i didnt need the weapons, my heros will probs use them, though they didnt need them, but just like everyone else is grinding titles/armor/pets out this is on the same level.

Trying to fill HoM

Only for the super rich????? You're kidding, right? I have a tormented Shield and I'm hardly rich. I have a grand total of 200k in storage plus a fair amount of materials and dyes. I think that puts me squarely in the upper middle class of GW. I can buy almost any item ingame that I want excluding the multi-million dollar minipets.

I spotted a torment shield on a player about a year and a half ago and I loved it. I had never seen one before and I thought it looked awesome. I headed over to wiki and learned where I could get one. At the time, I didn't have any characters towards the end of Nightfall so I wasn't able to get one.

Instead of whining about a shield I couldn't have, I simply started playing NF some more and gradually got my Ele and Warrior thru. I then found out that I couldn't join any DOA teams without a high ranked Ursan. Ok, I whined a bit about that, but I also worked hard on my LB and Ursan titles and eventually started getting into DOA groups and just last month I earned my 60th gemstone and picked up my own Torment Shield.

I'm not rich. I didn't buy a single gemstone. I farmed them all. So just because you see a player with a torment weapon, don't assume they are some rich stuck-up prick. It's very easy to acquire the weapons and armor you desire if you are willing to do the research to find out what materials are required and start farming the areas that produce those items. No need to be "super rich".

Ok, that's my rant the day. I'm sure I'll have a new one tomorrow.

Some of those things take time and clearly need advance work if you want a full HoM. Others (weapons and armour in particular), just require that you save the cash for them. I've bought 4 armours, because I like them. I'll buy a fifth shortly before GW2, because any sooner and I'm wasting space. I've also bought most of the minis I intend to put in, because there's something of an "opportunity" factor there (get them when I see them at a good price).

We don't even know if "filling" a monument is required or particularly useful for GW2. If it grants 1:1 weapon unlocks, it might turn out to be better buying HoM weapons across several characters, for instance. There was and is always a huge chance of investing in the wrong stuff, until we know more about the GW2 rewards. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, it's just you could have seen this coming!

It's also worth pointing out that we still don't know how ANet intends to change the monument - it might turn out to be something lame that leaves you happy to keep your Destroyer collection! Hopefully not, of course. But then maybe they could allow Destroyer weapons to be "returned" for a refund (here's hoping ).

What you people all forget is that it doesn't matter worth a flying crap what someone has in their HoM. You're only going to see it if you go into their HoM with them, and I'm guessing not many people stand around in EotN yelling "WTS run to uber leet duped ecto/armbrace HoM for 1k - come and stand and feel like your stuff is devalued!"

If you don't like it, then don't dedicate stuff there, and don't bitch about others who do. I don't care about the HoM because from what I've heard, GW2 is just another non-instanced MMO. Of those, there are millions already...many of them free to download and play. It loses what grabbed me and made me want to keep playing, so I for one am unlikely to play it.

If you're planning to play it, well good luck. Go spend your money on tormented weapons, or perfect r9s, or greens. Or don't, and quit whining about it.

Although Regina has been far more careful about what she says then Galie ever was, I'm still doubtful. We've heard a lot of stuff in chats that never came through. Don't hold your breath.
